Bread of Life

Prayer...

Prayer is, in the strictest sense, a humble religious petition of man to God to seek divine benevolence and benefits he needs for life, both temporal and eternal. It is a conversation with God, either by accepted prayer forms, or from the heart. Consider these words as if God were speaking them to His children...

"It is not necessary my child, to know much in order to please me much; it is enough that you love me fervently. Speak here to me then, as you would speak to your most intimate friend, to your mother, to your brother."

~God your Father~

He Gave His Only Son

"Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed."

John 21:29

False Gods

by Patti LaRue

It's always difficult when someone you love passes and they are no longer with us to share with us their life and talents. We all grieve differently but those of us who truly believe in God understand that they will be taken care of far better than we ever could have, by the grace and love of God.

This is great....
...that we have such faith.

This is great that we have such faith to hold on to otherwise the grief of losing someone might be overwhelming.

What is not great about human nature is when we place someone so high on a pedestal that they become far greater than God Himself.

Thou shall not have...
...false gods before me.

But we are reminded of this daily, that many people seem to completely ignore this fundamental commandment.

Just turn on your TV, especially if you have cable, turn it to channel four and you will see this commandment being broken over and over again with the death of Michael Jackson. Over and over again it's nothing but how great he was, how he was loved, all the good he did, etc., etc.

That's fine until it's out of control and it's out of control. He died on June 24th yet the media is still pushing this "grief" onto the public and the public is eating it up.

Jackson has gone, homage has been paid, it's time to move on.

He may have done a lot of good things, but this does not give anyone the right to make him a "god"! Oh sure he could do the "moon walk" but Christ could walk on water, why doesn't anyone talk about that? He gave to millions, but Christ fed thousands by just passing out a couple of loaves of bread and a few fish with some left over! But where's the hype on that? Christ could heal the sick, raise the dead, where's hype on that?

Unfortunately, all of this is just further proof on just how far many people have gotten away from Christ. I can't imagine the grief that God must have for all His lost children.

And when they need forgiveness who will be there to offer it? Michael Jackson?
