Prayer is, in the strictest sense, a humble religious petition of man to God to seek divine benevolence and benefits he needs for life, both temporal and eternal. It is a conversation with God, either by accepted prayer forms, or from the heart. Consider these words as if God were speaking them to His children...
"It is not necessary my child, to know much in order to please me much; it is enough that you love me fervently. Speak here to me then, as you would speak to your most intimate friend, to your mother, to your brother." ~God your Father~

He Gave His Only Son
"Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed."
John 21:29
Quotes to Live By- There should be less talk. A preaching point is not a meeting point.
- The dying, the cripple, the mental, the unwanted, the unloved-- they are Jesus in disguise.
- In the West there is loneliness, which I call the leprosy of the West. In many ways it is worse than our poor in Calcutta. (Commonweal, Dec 19, 1997)
- It is not how much we do, but how much love we put in the doing. It is not how much we give, but how much love we put in the giving.
- The poor give us much more than we give them. They're such strong people, living day to day with no food. and they never curse, never complain. We don't have to give them pity or sympathy. We have so much to learn from them.
- I see God in every human being. When I wash the leper's wounds, I feel I am nursing the Lord himself. Is it not a beautiful experience?
- I do not pray for success. I ask for faithfulness.
- Let us not be satisfied with just giving money. Money is not enough, money can be got, but they need your hearts to love them. So, spread your love everywhere you go.
- If you judge people, you have no time to love them.

We live in one of the most death denying cultures that has ever existed. we detest the thought of imperfection, suffering and our own mortality. The illusion lingers in the back of our mind that we'll live here forever; if we just exercise, eat less and do for ourselves the endless right things, we constantly hear about. Death for most people, has nothing positive about it.
Yet, perhaps a change is beginning. Movies, talk shows, and books about near death experiences are beginning to insert a few positive aspects about dying amidst our many fears. Some people, after being revived from the point of death, portray the process of dying as an experience of clarity and self awareness; deep peacefullness and a sense of a loving God. They say they are no longer as frightened about dying as they were before.
The vast majority of people believe in God and a continuation of life after this world. Although, the concepts of Heaven and Hell are familiar in various religions, the truth seems to be that we do little thinking about Heaven. We admit that Heaven is supposed to be a wonderful place, but in our honest moments we have a suspicion that we just might find God and Heaven rather boring. So we wonder "What will I do all day?" "What will I look like?"
Let's think more expansively for a moment about Heaven. Let's begin with ourselves and our nature of being human, as we know it in this world. Philosophers have told us that all knowledge comes through senses, what we experience comes from outside and our five sense.
But who is tos ay that these five senses of ours are the only possible senses to the inner person? Okay, suppose we had fewer than five senses. Imagine that by nature we had only four and sight was not one of them. Instead of seeing, we moved about and kept from bumping into things by sound waves we sent and received, like a bat. Lacking sight we humans would be ignorant of all that our eyes bring. If all humans had only four senses, and lacked sight, we wouldn't feel deprived because we would never even suspect the experience of sight existed.
Now suppose that when we died we came to the fullness of existence by receiving the sense of sight as well as more senses than we ever experienced. Would this be boring to you? Far from it! Life in Heaven would be like turning a new corner and our relationships with God and others would be deep, personal and as intimate as anything could be.
We don't think of Heaven enough as we journey here on earth. The anticipation of our destination can and will make the journey so much more tolerable, so don't you think it's about time to think more about Heaven?
"What no eye has seen and no ear has heard, what the mind of man cannot visualize; all that God has prepared for those who love Him." 1 Corinthians 2:9
