Bread of Life

Prayer...

Prayer is, in the strictest sense, a humble religious petition of man to God to seek divine benevolence and benefits he needs for life, both temporal and eternal. It is a conversation with God, either by accepted prayer forms, or from the heart. Consider these words as if God were speaking them to His children...

"It is not necessary my child, to know much in order to please me much; it is enough that you love me fervently. Speak here to me then, as you would speak to your most intimate friend, to your mother, to your brother."

~God your Father~

He Gave His Only Son

"Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed."

John 21:29

The Beauty of Creation Bears Witness to God

by Claire Clow

I came across this poem in the 'Liturgy of the Hours' and thought it would be nice to share. Sometimes we forget to notice the beauty all around us in this hurried life. Or we're simply wanting something different than what is present. We should follow the examples of the saints that can lead us to our heavenly home.

Sometimes we forget
...to see the beauty.

The Beauty of Creation Bears Witness to God

Question the beauty of the earth,
The beauty of the sea,
The beauty of the wide air around you,
The beauty of the sky;
Question the order of the stars,
The sun whose brightness lights the day,
The moon whose splendor softens the gloom of the night;
Question the living creatures that move in the waters,
That roam upon the earth,
That fly through the air;
The spirit that lies hidden,
The matter that is manifest,
The visible things that are ruled;
Question all these.
They will answer you;
"Behold and see, we are beautiful."
Their beauty is their confession of God.
Who made these beautiful changing things,
if not one who is beautiful and changeth not?

Saint Augustine

Behold and see...
...we are beautiful.
