Prayer is, in the strictest sense, a humble religious petition of man to God to seek divine benevolence and benefits he needs for life, both temporal and eternal. It is a conversation with God, either by accepted prayer forms, or from the heart. Consider these words as if God were speaking them to His children...
"It is not necessary my child, to know much in order to please me much; it is enough that you love me fervently. Speak here to me then, as you would speak to your most intimate friend, to your mother, to your brother." ~God your Father~

He Gave His Only Son
"Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed."
John 21:29
Quotes to Live By- There should be less talk. A preaching point is not a meeting point.
- The dying, the cripple, the mental, the unwanted, the unloved-- they are Jesus in disguise.
- In the West there is loneliness, which I call the leprosy of the West. In many ways it is worse than our poor in Calcutta. (Commonweal, Dec 19, 1997)
- It is not how much we do, but how much love we put in the doing. It is not how much we give, but how much love we put in the giving.
- The poor give us much more than we give them. They're such strong people, living day to day with no food. and they never curse, never complain. We don't have to give them pity or sympathy. We have so much to learn from them.
- I see God in every human being. When I wash the leper's wounds, I feel I am nursing the Lord himself. Is it not a beautiful experience?
- I do not pray for success. I ask for faithfulness.
- Let us not be satisfied with just giving money. Money is not enough, money can be got, but they need your hearts to love them. So, spread your love everywhere you go.
- If you judge people, you have no time to love them.
~Mother Teresa~
by Claire Clow
The other day I was listening to Sr. Anne on KBVM. She does a reflection in the morning at 6:45 and evenings at 4:45 discussing the daily readings of the church. I think she is very insightful and I love listening to her to her when I get a chance.
She said something that just really struck me and had me reflecting on her thoughts for quite a while.
She was talking about the saint who's feast day it was and she said that it would be really neat to sit down and talk to them when she hopefully gets to heaven and she could have some of her questions answered. I started thinking about, and wondering, who I'd I like to sit down with and talk to or have questions answered. I was getting a long list going, some of which were St. Teresa of Avila, St. Francis and St. Clare, St. Benedict, St. Augustine, and his mother, and Mary-our mother of course, when I stopped and thought, this is going to be so cool. I was actually getting excited about idea of all of this. Yes, I've always wanted to go to heaven, be with Jesus, and I try to live so I'll get there. But I've never just thought of it in this way before, that all of these wonderful, holy people will be there and we'll be able to just visit with. It will be just a great big wonderful party. Reflect for a bit on who you'd like to talk to and what questions you might have for them. How did the woman feel that reached out to touch the cloak of Jesus and was healed instantly? How did St. Peter feel when he had Jesus' forgiveness when he had refused knowing Him. Talk with St. Francis about his lost relationship with his father.
I have a sign above my front door that says "Let us all watch over each other that we may all sit down in heaven together." I've always felt that my friends and family here will one day be with me in Heaven and I've thought about the wonder of being with Jesus and Mary if I go to heaven but I just had never really thought about just visiting with the saints before. Our God is really just so awesome.
