Bread of Life

Prayer...

Prayer is, in the strictest sense, a humble religious petition of man to God to seek divine benevolence and benefits he needs for life, both temporal and eternal. It is a conversation with God, either by accepted prayer forms, or from the heart. Consider these words as if God were speaking them to His children...

"It is not necessary my child, to know much in order to please me much; it is enough that you love me fervently. Speak here to me then, as you would speak to your most intimate friend, to your mother, to your brother."

~God your Father~

He Gave His Only Son

"Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed."

John 21:29

Thank You Lord

by Kelsey McKay

Lord, I am greatly encouraged to know that such a great leader as Abraham Lincoln would admit that his dependence on prayer to sustain him in difficult and challenging times. He once said "I have been driven many times to my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had nowhere to go but prayer. My own wisdom and that of al about me seemed insufficient for the day."

I have been driven many times to my knees...
...by the overwhelming conviction that I had nowhere to go but prayer.

Thank you Father for the gift of prayer. When problems pile up and stress mounts, I am so grateful that I too have a place to turn. You are there wating for me, ofering your grace for grim days and your strength for my struggles. How good it is to know that I am not alone. I can be honest with you about my insufficiencies and discover the sufficiency of your wisdom given in very specific and practical answers to my deepest needs.

Thank you Father...
...for the gift of prayer.

Help me to spend more time listening to your answers than I do in my lengthy explanations to you about my problems. I dedicate this and every day to seeking your guidance, following your direction and doing my best to serve according to your will.
