Bread of Life

Prayer...

Prayer is, in the strictest sense, a humble religious petition of man to God to seek divine benevolence and benefits he needs for life, both temporal and eternal. It is a conversation with God, either by accepted prayer forms, or from the heart. Consider these words as if God were speaking them to His children...

"It is not necessary my child, to know much in order to please me much; it is enough that you love me fervently. Speak here to me then, as you would speak to your most intimate friend, to your mother, to your brother."

~God your Father~

He Gave His Only Son

"Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed."

John 21:29

~Mother Teresa~

The Easter Season

by Claire Clow

The holiest time of the year, The Passion and Resurrection of our Lord, has come and gone. We watched as the newly baptized and confirmed were blessed with the graces of those precious sacraments. We set about going back to our normal routines now that Easter has passed. But now, more than ever, our church needs us to hold on to the practices we tried to adhere to during Lent. We need to continue to renew our religious practices and our prayer life. We need to continue to grow closer to Jesus. There is no reason to stop now that Lent and Holy Week have passed. Let the practices we started continue throughout the year.

We need to continue...
...to renew our religious practices.

As the Church is being attacked in the media over and over again, our religious leaders need your steadfast love and support to overcome the insults and outright meanness of the people trying to bring the Church down. We know that Jesus has won the war, but battles are left to be fought. Without a strong and continued prayer life we won't have the necessary skills to put off the offenders. We need to bring them into the love our Lord wants all of us to share. Prayer will get us to the place we need to be, whether by example, or explanation, we'll be able to spread that love in our circle of acquaintances, and in turn hopefully they'll go out and spread that love.

We need to bring them into the love...
...our Lord wants all of us to share.

Even the Holy Father is not shielded from the accusations that we've been dealing with for several years now. We must hold our heads up high and be proud to be a Catholic. Yes, there have been mistakes made by our priests and bishops, these men are not immune from sin, we are all humans, all parts of society makes mistakes. For the most part we have holy men and women that work to bring us closer to Jesus and our everlasting eternity. The hype is over from Easter and we're back to the day in and out of normal times. At least that's what it seems. We do have Mercy Sunday and the whole Easter season continuing. Pray and sing alleluia!

You are all loved!
