Prayer is, in the strictest sense, a humble religious petition of man to God to seek divine benevolence and benefits he needs for life, both temporal and eternal. It is a conversation with God, either by accepted prayer forms, or from the heart. Consider these words as if God were speaking them to His children...
"It is not necessary my child, to know much in order to please me much; it is enough that you love me fervently. Speak here to me then, as you would speak to your most intimate friend, to your mother, to your brother." ~God your Father~

He Gave His Only Son
"Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed."
John 21:29
Quotes to Live By- There should be less talk. A preaching point is not a meeting point.
- The dying, the cripple, the mental, the unwanted, the unloved-- they are Jesus in disguise.
- In the West there is loneliness, which I call the leprosy of the West. In many ways it is worse than our poor in Calcutta. (Commonweal, Dec 19, 1997)
- It is not how much we do, but how much love we put in the doing. It is not how much we give, but how much love we put in the giving.
- The poor give us much more than we give them. They're such strong people, living day to day with no food. and they never curse, never complain. We don't have to give them pity or sympathy. We have so much to learn from them.
- I see God in every human being. When I wash the leper's wounds, I feel I am nursing the Lord himself. Is it not a beautiful experience?
- I do not pray for success. I ask for faithfulness.
- Let us not be satisfied with just giving money. Money is not enough, money can be got, but they need your hearts to love them. So, spread your love everywhere you go.
- If you judge people, you have no time to love them.

by Patti LaRue
I recently had the opportunity to experience a lecture given by Jessie Romero. His style of speaking may be a little unorthodox for some Catholics but I know for myself he left a big impression on me.
One thing that really grabbed me is when he said that a lot of Catholics go around in life thinking they have a spot reserved for them in heaven. He expressed that they think because they are a baptized, confirmed Catholic and go to church every Sunday and think to themselves "Well, I was a lector, a Eucharistic Minister, I volunteered for the church where ever and whenever I could, I was a good Catholic." that all of this reserves them a spot in heaven. But he said that the only thing that's going to get any of us into heaven is if we can honestly answer one question with a yes. "But did you do it with Jesus in your heart?!"
Ask yourself that question the next time you come to church. Are you coming to church with Jesus in your heart?
Ask yourself that question the next time you put that cross on to hand out the Holy Eucharist "Am I doing this with Jesus in my heart?"
The next time you step up to volunteer for anything for the church ask yourself "Am I doing this with Jesus in my heart or am I doing this for myself and to look good for others?"
If you are looking for a pat on the back or for some sort of recognition from those around you whenever you do something for Christ and His church, then you won't be able to honestly answer yes to the question "But did you do it with Jesus in your heart?"
And if you don't ask Jesus to come and be in your heart whenever you do His work, there is no sense then in doing it, because it becomes meaningless unless you have him tucked away in your heart and can truly feel His presence there with you every step of the way.
Let us pray -
Lord Jesus, I ask for you to come into my heart, take over my heart to enable me to do your work with all honesty, not with shallowness, but with meaning. Lord Jesus, come into my heart and fill me with your loving grace so that I might shine with the radiance of your love, for all the world to see.
Amen
