Bread of Life
Prayer...

Prayer is, in the strictest sense, a humble religious petition of man to God to seek divine benevolence and benefits he needs for life, both temporal and eternal. It is a conversation with God, either by accepted prayer forms, or from the heart. Consider these words as if God were speaking them to His children...

"It is not necessary my child, to know much in order to please me much; it is enough that you love me fervently. Speak here to me then, as you would speak to your most intimate friend, to your mother, to your brother."

~God your Father~

He Gave His Only Son

"Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed."

John 21:29

Do We Dare Doubt

by Kelsey McKay

It's times such as these that truly make me wonder, GAP, God Answers Prayers, but I feel only the ones He truly desires for you. I find myself asking why and then am reminded of John Chapter 11, and how the Lord works on His own time table. He does know what is right for us and if we truly have faith and believe in Him then He will answer us.

Doubt leads to anger, which leads to fear and depression. Just because He has not answered our prayer that we specifically prayed about, but answered something we may not have prayed about, shouldn't that make us happy? Yes, it should. We need to understand that it takes little steps to equal one giant leap...therefore, maybe the Lord is not answering that specific prayer we would like Him to because He's answering our smaller, lesser prayers within, in order to prepare us for that giant leap.

the Lord works on His own time table....
...He does know what is right for us.

So don't doubt our Lord Jesus because He is taking His time, He wants us to know He is there and that He does hear our prayers and just because He doesn't answer each and every one when we expect Him to, doesn't mean he won't, He will when the time is right.

So don't doubt our Lord Jesus because He is taking His time..... ...
...He wants us to know He is there and that He does hear our prayers.

Why doubt? There's really no need to, Peter doubted when he walked to Jesus on the lake, the Apostles doubted even when they watched Him perform many miracles. Believe, have faith, because Jesus paid the ultimate price so that we could live and be free from sin.

Prayer is powerful, believe in what you are praying about and pray from your heart while you are in true faith. Christ our Lord will listen and answer accordingly. To be aligned with our redeemer we truly cannot doubt Him, but have the belief and faith He is asking us to have.

Prayer is what we need in our lives. I have seen my prayers answered, not in order of when they were prayed, but answered no less. And remember Jesus prayed for us, the believers.

"My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message (the apostles), that all of them may be one. Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one. I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that yu sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world. Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them." (John 17:20,26)

Our Lord prayed for us believers even though He knew it was His final hours on earth, and He paid the ultimate price in order to have His prayer answered. So the next time you despair, or are angry with God for not answering your prayer when you want Him to, stop, take a moment to think and try to understand what our savior went through for His prayer to be answered. Patience is a virture, just wait and you'll receive your answer.
