Prayer is, in the strictest sense, a humble religious petition of man to God to seek divine benevolence and benefits he needs for life, both temporal and eternal. It is a conversation with God, either by accepted prayer forms, or from the heart. Consider these words as if God were speaking them to His children...
"It is not necessary my child, to know much in order to please me much; it is enough that you love me fervently. Speak here to me then, as you would speak to your most intimate friend, to your mother, to your brother." ~God your Father~

He Gave His Only Son
"Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed."
John 21:29
Quotes to Live By- There should be less talk. A preaching point is not a meeting point.
- The dying, the cripple, the mental, the unwanted, the unloved-- they are Jesus in disguise.
- In the West there is loneliness, which I call the leprosy of the West. In many ways it is worse than our poor in Calcutta. (Commonweal, Dec 19, 1997)
- It is not how much we do, but how much love we put in the doing. It is not how much we give, but how much love we put in the giving.
- The poor give us much more than we give them. They're such strong people, living day to day with no food. and they never curse, never complain. We don't have to give them pity or sympathy. We have so much to learn from them.
- I see God in every human being. When I wash the leper's wounds, I feel I am nursing the Lord himself. Is it not a beautiful experience?
- I do not pray for success. I ask for faithfulness.
- Let us not be satisfied with just giving money. Money is not enough, money can be got, but they need your hearts to love them. So, spread your love everywhere you go.
- If you judge people, you have no time to love them.

It's not always easy to be a good Christian, at least not the type of Christian that Christ aspires us to be. If we tell ourselves that it is easy, then we're not being completely honest with ourselves.
It's a daily challenge to try and keep yourself within the "checks and balances" of being that good Christian. The things that come our way and bombard us on a daily basis can make it a struggle.
We all tend to stray from the path whether or not we want to admit it. How can you tell if you are straying from the path that Christ has laid before us? Here are just a few things you might ask yourself and if you answer yes to any of them, you may come to realize just how hard it is to live that Christian life we all try to live.
1.Do you find yourself judging others because of their behavior or perhaps even for the way they look?
2.Do you find yourself unable to return a smile to a stranger or even offer up a smile on your own to someone you may not know?
3.Do you forget to give a simple thank you to someone who has done something for you, no matter how small you might think the task was?
4.Do you criticize others?
5.Do you put others down for their beliefs, whether you verbally express it or think it?
6.When something needs to be done, or someone needs help do you sit back and think to yourself "Oh someone else will take care of it."?
I for one am not going to deny that I have struggled with some of the questions above. I struggle with most of these questions on a daily basis. And I am continually asking God for His grace, guidance and understanding to help guide me into overcoming my weaknesses.
But the good news is, He understands, He knows we're not perfect and He loves us right where we are in our lives. And as long as we continue to try to overcome our weaknesses and rely more upon His guidance, the better our lives as Christians will become.
