Prayer is, in the strictest sense, a humble religious petition of man to God to seek divine benevolence and benefits he needs for life, both temporal and eternal. It is a conversation with God, either by accepted prayer forms, or from the heart. Consider these words as if God were speaking them to His children...
"It is not necessary my child, to know much in order to please me much; it is enough that you love me fervently. Speak here to me then, as you would speak to your most intimate friend, to your mother, to your brother." ~God your Father~

He Gave His Only Son
"Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed."
John 21:29
Quotes to Live By- There should be less talk. A preaching point is not a meeting point.
- The dying, the cripple, the mental, the unwanted, the unloved-- they are Jesus in disguise.
- In the West there is loneliness, which I call the leprosy of the West. In many ways it is worse than our poor in Calcutta. (Commonweal, Dec 19, 1997)
- It is not how much we do, but how much love we put in the doing. It is not how much we give, but how much love we put in the giving.
- The poor give us much more than we give them. They're such strong people, living day to day with no food. and they never curse, never complain. We don't have to give them pity or sympathy. We have so much to learn from them.
- I see God in every human being. When I wash the leper's wounds, I feel I am nursing the Lord himself. Is it not a beautiful experience?
- I do not pray for success. I ask for faithfulness.
- Let us not be satisfied with just giving money. Money is not enough, money can be got, but they need your hearts to love them. So, spread your love everywhere you go.
- If you judge people, you have no time to love them.

I have to wonder sometimes just what I am filling myself with. I watch my fair share of TV. I guess it is okay to take in mindless TV now and then. I just think that I take in too much sometimes. Like it is said in the gospel; the tree is known for its good fruit. What fruit do I produce when my diet is lacking? What fruit could I provide when I take in the gospel message of love that Jesus taught.
I was visiting some friends this summer who I had not seen for a few months. I really wanted to know how they were doing. However, all they wanted to talk about was their problems with the hospital system. I really wanted to know how they were doing. There are times when we need to talk to our friends about what is going on in their hearts - not their health care system.
When we love each other as Jesus taught - we need to be present to them. We need to go deeper. When we are able to connect to each other at a deeper level, we don't worry about the swift current of the river. We build a strong community of love that keeps everyone together. We will withstand swift currents in our life because of the love that Jesus taught us to bring.
I don't necessarily need to know my friends problems with their health care provider. But that's okay too - I need to stay connected to their life. But what if I also learned about my friends greatest fears, greatest joys, dreams and aspirations. What if we had the same dreams and were able to make that connection too.
God created us in his image, male and female he created us. It is through his image that we can be creative, intelligent, and loving brothers and sisters. When we connect with each other - let us use our God-given creation to connect at a deeper level now and then. It is only then that we can speak from the heart. And the world needs more words from the heart instead of the head.
