Bread of Life
Prayer...

Prayer is, in the strictest sense, a humble religious petition of man to God to seek divine benevolence and benefits he needs for life, both temporal and eternal. It is a conversation with God, either by accepted prayer forms, or from the heart. Consider these words as if God were speaking them to His children...

"It is not necessary my child, to know much in order to please me much; it is enough that you love me fervently. Speak here to me then, as you would speak to your most intimate friend, to your mother, to your brother."

~God your Father~

He Gave His Only Son

"Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed."

John 21:29

Advent Image

by Deacon Mike Caldwell

Here is an Advent image for you. We all know that Jesus was a carpenter and we hear in scripture that we better build our house on a solid foundation and not on sand. Let's pretend that we are using Advent to build our "Christmas House." We want to build our Christmas House on a solid foundation and we only have a few days left until it is complete. You may have already been working on your Christmas House and your foundation may be well on its way.

We want to build our Christmas House....
...on a solid foundation.

During Advent, we have to spend some time on working on the true meaning of Christmas. During Advent we have to spend some time in prayer, listening to God, reading some scripture, and doing good deeds for our sisters and brothers. If we just spend our Advent time to decorate Christmas trees, shopping, and attending social parties our Christmas House may slip off its foundation of sand.

May you make sure that your Christmas House...
...will be an inviting home to welcome Jesus.

May you make sure that your Christmas House will be an inviting home to welcome Jesus as we celebrate His birthday in his human form. And if our Christmas House is well built, may it be an inviting place to welcome the coming of Christ. Happy Advent!
