Bread of Life
Prayer...

Prayer is, in the strictest sense, a humble religious petition of man to God to seek divine benevolence and benefits he needs for life, both temporal and eternal. It is a conversation with God, either by accepted prayer forms, or from the heart. Consider these words as if God were speaking them to His children...

"It is not necessary my child, to know much in order to please me much; it is enough that you love me fervently. Speak here to me then, as you would speak to your most intimate friend, to your mother, to your brother."

~God your Father~

He Gave His Only Son

"Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed."

John 21:29

Lent

by Claire Clow

This week we started Lent with Ash Wednesday. This is one of the seasons of our Church and if we take advantage of these 40 days we will grow closer to our Lord.

This is a time to delve deeper....
...into the word of God.

This is a time to delve deeper into the word of God, to change our normal ways of life by giving up something we enjoy, or doing something extra to help the less fortunate around us, to seek God's will. We are marked with the Ashes to remind us that we will die, let us be reminded that we should live on this earth so that we can live in Eternity with our friends in Heaven. Seek Wisdom; seek a holy relationship with Jesus, practice our faith. Spend 40 days in the desert as our Lord did. Take extra time to pray, as the Church is leading us, be honest, and examine your conscience. Where is there room for improvement? We all have these areas; examine what may need a little pruning. We are the branches of our faith, be still and listen to that small voice let the Vine (Jesus) do the trimming. You'll only hear that voice by stopping the busy lives we live and make room for quiet. Journey with Jesus; let Him lead you through this Lenten time.

Spend 40 days in the desert...
...as our Lord did.

"Lord, we have begun our work of penitence: by your favor help us to see it through. May we accomplish the bodily observance of Lent with true sincerity of mind."
