We are limited to just 33 campsites for the 2011 camp out so you might want to consider reserving early!
Directions to Metzler Park
Metzler Park is located approximately 5 miles south of Estacada. Take Interstate 205 to Exit 12, Clackamas/Estacada, and turn eastbound onto Hwy. 212/224. Proceed 3.2 miles through Clackamas to the Hwy. 212/224 junction (Rock Creek junction), turn right onto Hwy. 224, proceed 15.1 miles following the signs to Estacada. Pass through Estacada, just on the outskirts of Estacada, turn right onto Hwy. 211, crossing a bridge. Go 4.0 miles to Tucker Rd.; turn right. Proceed .5 miles and make a sharp left turn onto Metzler Park Rd. The park entrance is 1.6 miles down the road.
Camping Fees
The first night is $29.00 all other nights are $21.00 per site/per night. The first vehicle is at no charge, being included in your camp fee. The fee for extra vehicles is $5.00 per night and can be paid at the campground. A maximum of two vehicles are permitted in a campsite. Any vehicles not fitting in the campsite must be parked in the designated overflow parking.For your protection, park entrance gates are locked from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. daily. Be sure to plan your activities around this. Resident park personnel or attendants will open gates during closed hours ONLY in cases of bona fide emergencies.
If you would like to come out for the day, the day use fee is $5.00.
Activities for All Ages
The playground will keep your youngsters entertained for hours. An exciting game of softball, volleyball or horseshoes is perfect.Fishing is another popular pastime. Folks will tell you that Barton Park is one of the best sites on the mid-Clackamas. Steelhead, trout and salmon could easily be the highlight of your campsite feast tonight.
Rafting is very popular. Many enjoy the adventurous trip starting about 6 miles upriver at McIver Park. The boat ramp provides excellent riv er access. Others choose to start at Barton for about a 5 mile journey to Carver Park. The Clackamas River is exceptionally beautiful and the rapids are mild enough for rafters of all abilities.
