"Turning to his disciples in private Jesus said, 'Blessed are the eyes that see what you see.'"
- Luke 10:24
You know those moments, right? The ah-ha moments. The times when things click, make sense. You think and pray and ponder and ruminate about something that does not make sense and finally you understand or get it and say, "I see." And with that personal connection inside of you there is a resolution that comes in the knowing. In "the seeing" we come to a knowing which leads to resolution or peace.
Before the birth of God, the gift of “seeing” was limited. Jesus tells his disciples that they are blessed to see what they see because before him all the kings and prophets and every one of God’s children desired to see what they see but could not see it.
As disciples, you and I are blessed. The invisible God has become visible. The unseen Word takes flesh. God dawns a body for all of us to see. St. John says The Word made flesh pitches his tent right in the middle of us (see John1:14). At the center of all we think, say and do all the day long, every day. He sets up camp so that we can see him. As plain as day. Unlike all those who became before Jesus, we have been given the gift of "seeing." Are we using his gift to us?
The Word Made Flesh is the only Son of the Father filled with enduring love. He is "love following upon love" for us (John1:16) Love keeps pouring over us like the oceans waves. He has chosen us to be filled with "love following upon love". He is forever faithful intending to bring us to the fullness of his promises. And he has given us 20-20 vision in “seeing” his enduring love in The Word who pitched his tent among us. And it is in the seeing of the Word Made Flesh that we come to a personal knowing which leads to our peace.
In all our seeking it is Jesus that we seek. We want "love following upon love" which can only be found in the Word Made Flesh. We have been given the gift of "seeing" because he has pitched his tent in the middle of all we think, say and do. We can see and know personally his "love following upon love" and in this knowing have peace of the eternal ah-ha!
We are infinitely blessed!
