Pastoral Council

Minutes for June 6, 2007

Attendance: Fr. John Amsberry, Dan Baisley, Claire Clow, Lynette Loumena, David Mastroieni, Cliff Jensen, Lori Burmester, Patti LaRue, Greg Kenney, Kathy Keathly, Tim Cook, Mark Butler

Not in Attendance: Bill Standley, Darlene Greiner, Marci Burton, Lillian Erwin

Opening:

Father John led the group in prayer.

David Mastroieni called the meeting to order at 6:10 PM.

Old Business:

God’s Stewardship project – Mike Caldwell was present to explain program to incoming council members. David discussed with Mike on the council making a plan for next year and focusing on 2 or 3 of the ministries that need work on in our parish.

Serendipity – Still an issue. David waiting for a return call. Will call them again. Cliff mentioned they remove everything from church during their graduation. Joanne Bonneville taking graduation pictures for students. Pastoral Council Nominations - Discussion hon how future elections can be handled more efficiently.

New Business:

Vicariate Pastoral Council - St. Joseph the Worker Parish to host. David went over the three questions asked by the Vicariate on how to improve ministries between the parishes in our area.

Main Focus - Bringing the youth together to get involved as a larger group with music and evangelizing. Keeping their interest in the mass which is the heart of worship.

Another suggestion was to bring the Legion's of Mary together as one group from the different parishes at meetings.

Thank You Mass/BBQ - Fr. John will be holding a Thank You Mass and BBQ for the parish on August 12th, 2007. Mass will be at 10:00 am outside on the parish grounds in the front. BBQ will follow. There will be only one mass that day.

Church Name Tags- Possibility for parishioners to get to know one another better by putting on name tags when they enter the church.

Council members signed up for Greeters.

Round Table:

Outgoing Council Members - Said goodbye and discussed what it meant to be on the council.

Incoming Council Members - Introduced themselves and discussed why they wanted to be on the council.

Adjournment:

Next meeting: Wednesday, September 12th, 2007, 6 PM, in Social Room.

Father John led the closing prayer. Meeting adjourned at 7:20 PM.
