In the wonder of the Incarnation Jesus becomes one of us to die for our sins so that we can live with him forever.
There is no more personal, real and effective way that he could reach out to us. Now, through the power of the
Holy Spirit, Jesus reaches out to us just as personally, really and effectively as he did some 2000 years ago.
It is through the reality of the Incarnation that Jesus ceaselessly seeks to manifest God's uncreated love through
all created things.
I have had something swirling through my head and I kept asking The Holy Spirit why. Now I know. The idea that
I kept visiting was, "Where there is God, there is love - for God is love." God manifests himself as love
because that is what God is.
When you see someone hold the door open for another person and let them go first, there is love. And where there
is love, there is God. When someone chooses to visit an elderly person or shut in with no other reason than to
lift their spirit, there is love. And where there is love, there is God. When a mother gets up in the middle
of the night to care for her sick baby, there is love. And where there is love, there is God. And the list
goes on and on.
Some may not name this love as grace or Jesus or God but we as Christians do. We know that whenever the grace
to love has happened it is because God was there. There is no love without God but when God is there only love
can happen.
So many people in our world want love to happen! They are yearning to know the love of Jesus. In light of the
Incarnation, in light of Jesus ceaselessly manifesting God in all creation, how is it that so many people have
no clue about the love of God in Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit?
Name, for yourself and everyone you meet, how personally, really and effectively Christ has reached out to you
in life. Keep naming that every day, all the time. Teach others that, in the wonder of the Incarnation, Jesus
is ceaselessly reaching out through all creation to manifest God's love. Teach others that, "Where there is love,
there is God."
Blessed by the BEST,
+Fr. John (One of the reasons I put the Cross of Jesus before my name is because I know I am loved by Christ
and called to live in his love forever and the cross is proof of that.)
