St Joseph the Worker Catholic Church
Pastoral Council

Minutes for September 13, 2006

Attendance
Fr. John Amsberry, Dan Baisley, Claire Clow, Lynette Loumena, David Mastroieni, Tim Cook, Bill Standley, Greg Kenney, Cliff Jensen, Lori Burmester, Marci Burton

Opening
Father John led the group in prayer.

Dan Baisley called the meeting to order at 6:07 PM.

Old Business
Parish Web Page – light activity to date. It was suggested that the web address be added to the front of the Sunday bulletin. David presented the idea of adding Father’s homily to the site. The discussion also included Pod-Cast possibilities.

New Business
Archdiocesan Pastoral Assembly – our parish is invited to a collaborative planning effort of the Archdiocese on November 10-11. Father John, David, Claire, and Dan will represent St Joseph the Worker.

Penny Jar – a parishioner approached Bill about the past practice of collecting pennies. Originally it was an Archdiocesan Lenten project. Dan volunteered to research whether this is an on-going project, what the money is used for, etc. Father stated this should be a project for a specific timeframe, as opposed to year round.

Pastoral Council Purpose – Father stated that this council is the dreamers rather than the doers. A forum to discuss/ advise/plan in support of Father’s goals and vision for this parish. Council members were encouraged to think about parish priorities for the coming year and e-mail those suggestions to Claire, who will organize into a list.

Annual Pastoral Council Retreat – suggested date is October 21st. Details to follow.

Adjournment
Father John led the closing prayer. Meeting adjourned at 7:10 PM.
