Once God has given me the grace to realize that He is more than a genie
or a fairy godmother who simply grants wishes, living each day has become an endless praying
and talking and listening to God - my best friend, my Lord and the one who truly cares for me.
He has given me the grace to understand the following, and once I understand these, it becomes
easier for me to persevere and to continue seeking to increase my faith. I Hold on to the
following truths: That God is powerful, almighty and all-wise; That His singular purpose
is to safely take us back to Him in heaven after we leave this earthly life. That although
I may not always appreciate or understand the trials coming to my life, I know that all
things come together for good for those who trust in Him; That although I will not get
always what I have asked God, I know that what He gives me is beyond better and one
that will not lead me away from Him. With these in mind, whenever I pray to Him for
something specific now, I offer Him this prayer: "Dear Father, if what I ask is in accordance
with your will for me and will not take me away from You, please graciously grant my prayer.
But more important, give me the wisdom to keep my heart open to what you deem is the
best to be done about my request, and please give me the faith and wisdom to discern
where you are leading me and what you are telling me to do. |
