We need about 15 volunteers to help us work on compiling historical information, gathering historical objects religious and non-religious, gathering photographs, interviewing parishioners who have been at St. Joe's for 10, 20, 30, 40, even 50 years.

We also will need help with putting the historical displays together and setting up the exhibit the night before the event and then taking down the exhibit the next day and carefully storing the information and objects collected for future generations.

We also will need to make sure that any items that were loaned to the church are returned in a timely manner.

So if you like history and treasure hunts, this committee could be for you!

The only way I can help this committee is to be the proofreader. Don't be skeptical. I may not be a good English speaker but I can find mistakes even when I'm not trying to find one. A couple of months ago there was a poster that says dinner for Seminarins. Missing letter A, seminarians. And in the May 4th bulletin, in the Altar Guild News paragraph - Loraine and Sharron were misspelled. Should be Lorraine and Sharon. Are you not yet convinced? In this forum alone I found misspelled words like raffel (raffle), canapy (canopy), badmitton (badminton), jubalee (jubilee), Tyco drumming (Taiko), and jugglar (juggler). The errors that I find are not limited to typos and spelling errors but also factual errors, math errors. I know we have an editor in our group but there's no harm to let me review your work first before you finalize them. For example, in the coupon that Patti made, there's a reference to St. Joe's. I prefer to have it spelled fully like St. Joseph's. No big deal. But you'll never hear me say St. Patty or St. Joe. Maybe it's a cultural thing.

Contact Cathy Keathley and let her know you'd like to help in this respect. I've basically given her the control of the Historical Committee.
