The LOOP ladies, (which stands for Ladies of our Parish, a womens group open to all) had their second annual dinner out on June 3rd, 2008. A group of the regular attendees gathered at Bumpers Restaurant, in Fairview, for a non-work related evening. It was a great time, especially after the manager joined us and shared some of the highlights of the drink and food menu. It was a time of fellowship shared by all. LOOP welcomes any of the women of the parish to come to our monthly meetings, the first Tuesday of each month, after the family rosary, at 7:30 in the social room.

We gather together to pray, visit, and support each other. We do fund raisers or organize committees to bring aid to some of the people in need throughout our community. Members bring ideas to the group, Fr. John or the parish staff will suggest areas of need, or we will brainstorm together to find ways to make our community a helpful and loving place to be. Any suggestions can be brought up at our meetings and put to a vote. You can pick and choose the various projects you'd like to be a part of, it's an easy going group.

We try to do a variety of things to interest all. Some examples of the various events we have worked on:

The Women's Tea, which was a huge success. As a group we were able to purchase high chairs for the social room from the fund raiser and at the same time have a wonderful day where women could come to socialize, listen to a wonderful speaker, and enjoy some delicious food. We also donated one of the changing tables that were needed in the restrooms for babies.

We welcome the babies of the parish who are being baptized with a small present, either a night light, or children's rosary, along with a hand made "You are Loved" burp cloth as a remembrance of their special day.

We have organized meals to be delivered to families of sick parishioners, we've helped with the Knights of Columbus with their dinner for the seminarians, and held our own fund raiser dinner for the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist.

A scrap book evening for anyone that would like to have supplies and tools available to use is being organized once a month on Friday evenings. Look on the website calender for dates.

These are just a few of the many events and projects we have joined together to do.

Please think and pray about becoming a LOOP member. There is no cost but we do pass around a donation basket at the meetings. This way when a need arises we do have some funds to use for supplies. We'd love to have you and your ideas be a part of our group to help our community grow. You will be welcomed, appreciated and a needed part of the ministry.
