The Duties For the Music/Concert Committee is as Follows:

1. Plan music for mass.
2. Plan what music the choir will be singing for the concert and schedule at least one practice prior.
3. Plan what solos are to be sung.
4. Work closely with our "star attraction" on how he/they would like to set up the stage and how they would prefer the concert to be done.
5. Work closely with our "star attraction" should they want to sing with the choir during mass.
6. Check with the City of Portland on whether or not we will need a permit if we are expecting a 1,000 people to attend.
7. Work with the Decorating Committee on decorating the stage.
8. Research how much it is to rent a portable outdoor stage.
9. Make a "Good Will Offering" basket or container to place at the stage to try and make back some of the money that the church is spending on this event. Make sure the people who attend the concert is made aware of the good will offering.

Ideas brought to my attention for the concert.
1. Have a talent show - this could be open to all ages. Could be used for entertainment during the BBQ or as one of the earlier concerts.

2. The choir to sing selections from each decade. A Memory Lane Concert.

3. Discover if there are any Christain Local Bands and see if they may want to provide entertainment during BBQ or 1/2 hour evening concert.

Have yet to give any of these much thought, but wanted to let you all know. Kathy

OK, love the idea of a talent show during the BBQ that's a wonderful idea and it gives the chance for children to participate too and proud parents to preen over their little ones. Angel

The choir singing songs from all the decades was an idea I wanted to mention to you but I wasn't sure if you'd like the idea. Man, do great minds think alike or what?! Anxious
